AppliChem commissioned Sitewards for the update and upgrade of the B2B online store and the TYPO3 website with the following goals (in three stages):

• Phase 1: Problem analysis, performance optimization and availability of the existing B2B Websites. Optimization of the connection to the ERP system.
• Phase 2: Update of the Websites to improve the usability and target click tracks. Fulfillment of all quality criteria of the certificate provider “Trusted Shops”.
• Phase 3: Implementation of additional sales-promoting features.

Solution

Sitewards achieved the goals in several phases of development: beginning with the analysis and optimization of the existing TYPO3 performance and ensuring high availability of the web shop.

This was followed by a second step: the extension of the webshop, including design updates and integration of new features such as “Search & Suggest”, cross-selling and a thorough review of the automated generation of product specific Certificates of Analysis.

AppliChem employees can analyze all the product sales in the shop backend. AppliChem uses this information to optimally address and serve its customers.

A number of functional enhancements, such as shipment tracking, inventory display or customer rating features for the shop and products are currently in development.

Sitewards manages automated monitoring for the availability of the online store, and synchronization of the webshop product database with the inventory management system, ensuring AppliChem a short response time in case of any problems.
